K-STATE COMMENCEMENT
K-STATE STUDENTS SHARING THEIR TALENTS AT SPRING COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES
MANHATTAN -- Several students at Kansas State University will perform music or deliver speeches at upcoming K-State commencement ceremonies.
Commencement for K-State at Salina will be Saturday, May 10. K-State commencement ceremonies for the Graduate School and College of Veterinary Medicine will be Friday, May 16, and ceremonies for the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Education, Business Administration, Agriculture, Human Ecology, Engineering and Architecture, Planning and Design will be Saturday, May 17.
Students contributing to the ceremonies with musical performances and speeches include:
Cody Wheeler, senior in music education, Clearwater, will play trombone in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Human Ecology and the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Gemma Gough, bachelor's candidate in landscape architecture, Derby, will be a student speaker at commencement for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Zack Corpus, senior in music education, Dodge City, will play tuba in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at commencement for the College of Human Ecology and the College of Architecture, Planning and Design.
Sarah Priest, bachelor's candidate in music education, Emporia, will sing the national anthem at the College of Arts and Sciences ceremony.
Casey Wilkinson, bachelor's candidate food science and industry, Galena, will sing the national anthem at the College of Agriculture ceremony.
Laura Romig, junior in dietetics, Leavenworth, will be the organist for the College of Engineering and the College of Human Ecology ceremonies.
Christina Murray, doctor of veterinary medicine candidate, Manhattan, will present the reflections speech for the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Karyn Schafer, graduate student in music, Manhattan, will play horn in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform for the College of Human Ecology and the College of Architecture, Planning and Design ceremonies.
Joshua Schumm, bachelor's candidate in management, Manhattan, will be the student speaker for the College of Business Administration.
Mai Shibahara, graduate student in music, Manhattan, will sing the national anthem at the College of Education ceremony.
Philip Ward, master's candidate in music, Manhattan, will play trumpet in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform for the College of Human Ecology and the College of Architecture, Planning and Design ceremonies.
Rebecca Bennie, bachelor's candidate in elementary education, Olathe, will present the reflections speech for the College of Education.
Colleen Wittman, master's candidate in interior architecture and product design, Olathe, will be a student speaker for the College of Architecture, Planning and Design ceremony.
Lauren Luhrs, bachelor's candidate in human ecology and mass communications, Overland Park, will present the reflections speech for the College of Human Ecology.
Douglas Zerr, senior in technology management, Salina, will present the student address and serve as student marshal at commencement for K-State at Salina. Zerr is the 2007-2008 student body president at K-State at Salina.
Cassie Freyermuth, bachelor's candidate in applied music, Shawnee, will sing the national anthem and the K-State alma mater at the College of Human Ecology ceremony.
Philip White, bachelor's candidate in agricultural communications and journalism, Wellington, will present the student address at the College of Agriculture ceremony.
Rebecca Jo Ronen, junior in applied music, Wichita, will play trumpet in the K-State Brass Quintet, which will perform at the College of Human Ecology and the College of Architecture, Planning and Design ceremonies.
