K-STATE'S CHAPTER OF LAMBDA PI ETA, THE NATIONAL SPEECH COMMUNICATION HONORARY, INDUCTS NEW MEMBERS
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University's chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the national speech communication honor society, inducted new members in a ceremony April 11.
Lambda Pi Eta is the official communication studies honor society of the National Communication Association. The first members of K-State's chapter were inducted in 2006.
The society recognizes the outstanding scholastic achievement of its members, builds relationships between faculty and students, and supports the field through professional development, exchange of ideas and exploration of graduate education. The national requirements for student membership are at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average with 60 semester or 90 quarter credit hours completed.
K-State's chapter created an affiliate group of associate members in 2007. This designation is for freshman and sophomores who have not yet met the semester hours criteria but who do meet the grade point average requirement and are interested in working toward Lambda Pi Eta membership.
