K-STATE STUDENT FROM WICHITA IS COLLEGE OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION'S SPRING 2008 OUTSTANDING SENIOR IN BUSINESS
MANHATTAN -- Kendall Coad, a May 2008 bachelor's candidate in accounting and finance, Wichita, is the Kansas State University College of Business Administration's Spring 2008 Outstanding Senior in Business.
Coad will be recognized at the college's commencement ceremony Saturday, May 17, in Bramlage Coliseum.
The Outstanding Senior in Business honor is presented each semester to a graduating senior who has made outstanding contributions to the College of Business Administration. A student committee comprised of representatives from the Dean's Student Advisory Council selects the award recipient.
Coad has held key leadership roles in the college. She is a member of the Dean's Student Advisory Council, president of the K-State College of Business Administration Ambassadors and the vice president of programming for the Student Finance Association. She is a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and has served as a K-State Greek Ambassador.
She has maintained a 4.0 grade point average and has been named to the K-State honors list throughout her undergraduate career. Her academic achievements have earned her membership in several honorary organizations including Order of Omega, Silver Key sophomore honorary and Chimes junior honorary. In 2007, Coad was named a ConocoPhillips SPIRIT Scholar.
During her four years at K-State, she has been awarded scholarships from her sorority, college and university in recognition of her commitment to academic excellence.
Coad participated in two internships programs as a business student at K-State. In summer 2006, she interned at Koch, Siedhoff, Hand & Dunn Public Accountants in Wichita. The following summer, she had a financial analyst internship at Koch Industries-Flint Hill Resources, also in Wichita.
"Kendall has been an inspiration to her peers during her time at K-State. She had done a wonderful job leading the college's Business Ambassadors this year as well as serving in a number of other student leadership roles," said Yar M. Ebadi, dean of the College of Business Administration.
"I am pleased to see her outstanding contributions to the college recognized through her selection for this prestigious award. With her talents and abilities, I know she will be very successful in her future endeavors," Ebadi said.
Following her graduation from K-State, Coad will begin her career as a business analyst with Deloitte Consulting in Kansas City, Kan. In addition, she plans to attend graduate school to pursue a master's in business administration. Coad is the daughter of Rex and Jill Coad, Wichita, and a 2004 graduate of Andover Central High School.
