K-STATE PLANS FAQ PANEL DISCUSSION, MEMORIAL AND MEETINGS IN WAKE OF VIRGINIA TECH TRAGEDY
MANHATTAN -- A number of events are planned at Kansas State University this week in response to the tragedy yesterday at Virginia Tech.
* A panel discussion and Frequently Asked Questions session is scheduled for noon Thursday in the K-State Student Union Big 12 Room. "The Virginia Tech Tragedy: FAQ Session" is sponsored by the office of the dean of student life. Students, faculty and staff will have an opportunity to hear from student life and campus safety professionals about procedures in place at K-State and to ask questions. Panelists include Pat Bosco, dean of student life and associate vice president for institutional advancement; Fred Newton, director of counseling services; Derek Jackson, assistant director of housing and dining services; Heather Reed, assistant dean of student life.
* A memorial is scheduled Friday at noon in the Union Courtyard, organized by the campus ministers. The memorial is open to all.
* Additionally, meetings will be held in the residence halls with staff members of university counseling services present at each one. Time and location will be posted in each hall.
