National Environmental Evaluation and Remediation

Director: Larry Erickson
Address: 104 Ward Hall
Phone number: 785-532-6519

The National Environmental Evaluation and Remediation Consortium was established in 2001. It is a component of the Center for Hazardous Substance Research and is in the College of Engineering. The consortium consists of a group of core partners who work together to address complex environmental and local issues that are often not resolved by federal/state agencies or other parties working alone.

The consortium works to provide environmental services through scientific research, environmental training, assessment, product development and community assistance projects. Current projects include nonlethal technology assessment and the development of support programs for the Joint Nonlethal Weapons Directorate and Marine Corps Systems Commands at the Department of Defense.
