K-STATE'S ALL-UNIVERSITY CAREER FAIR, SEPT. 18-19, ATTRACTS RECORD-SETTING TURNOUT OF EMPLOYERS

MANHATTAN -- More than 300 businesses are coming to Kansas State University to look for their future employees among current K-State students and graduates.

K-State's All-University Career Fair will take place 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Bramlage Coliseum. Employers with names beginning with A though J will attend Sept. 18, and those with K through Z will attend Sept. 19. Next-day interviews will be 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, and Thursday, Sept. 20, at the K-State Student Union.

"We are excited to be hosting K-State's largest career fair ever," said Kerri Day Keller, director of K-State's career and employment services. "During the boom of the late '90s, we hit a high of 301 employers in 1999. This year, we have more than 325 employers during the two-day event."

Students can benefit greatly from receiving information and advice from the recruiters, Keller said, and they can hone their interview skills.

"K-State students continue to be highly sought-after candidates for employment," Keller said. "While career fair employers will be promoting mostly entry-level positions and internships, K-State alumni are welcome to attend the fair as well if they are seeking opportunities for a career change or want to network with employers who are committed to hiring K-Staters."

Students are encouraged to take the university shuttle from the west side of the Union to the parking lot east of the Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Career Fair vans will be available to take students from the lot to the northwest entrance of Bramlage for fair registration.

Participating students should dress professionally and bring their K-State student IDs and multiple copies of their resumes.

Tips on getting the most out of the career fair, as well as workshops being offered before the event, are available at http://www.k-state.edu/ces
