ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP CAN LEAD K-STATE STUDENTS TO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University is enticing students to learn more about financial assistance by offering a chance at a $200 scholarship just for attending the university's 11th annual Scholarship Workshop.
The drawing will take place during the event, which will run 3:30-4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, in the K-State Student Union Ballroom.
Staff from K-State's office of student financial assistance, adult student services and the Union Program Council will help attendees find out where to look for scholarships, how to create a winning scholarship application, and how to maximize financial assistance opportunities.
The schedule:
* 3:30-4 p.m.: Browse the scholarship expo to learn about college and community scholarships. Submit the K-State scholarship application and learn to gain experiences that strengthen your chances of winning scholarships.
* 4-4:30 p.m.: Ben Kohl, assistant director for the office of student financial assistance, will show students how to identify scholarship sources and submit winning scholarship applications.
