K-STATE CAMPUS HEALTH FAIR OCT. 24 AT K-STATE STUDENT UNION
MANHATTAN -- Lafene Health Center's 17th annual Campus Health Fair at Kansas State University, "Get in the Fast Lane to Good Health," will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, in the K-State Student Union courtyard.
The health fair is co-sponsored by the Student Health Advisory Committee. The group's goal is to increase student awareness of health services available at K-State. To incorporate the health fair's theme of "Get in the Fast Lane to Good Health," a 2007 Ford Mustang will be on display on the Bosco Plaza outside of the Union. Students also will receive a road map to the health fair at the Bosco Plaza.
The Campus Health Fair is a chance for students to find out about the health services available to them at K-State and to meet health care professionals from the Lafene Health Center. Information about health issues for college students also will be available.
"The health fair is an opportunity for students to ask health-related questions outside of the health center environment and to meet the physicians, nurses and other professional staff," said Carol Kennedy, health promotions director at Lafene.
Students also will have the chance to win prizes, including Country Stampede tickets; a football signed by Ron Prince, K-State football coach; and more.
"The Student Health Advisory Committee members have been working hard to get lots of prizes to give away to those who attend," said Erin Lord, a senior administrative assistant at Lafene.
Students, faculty and staff also will be available to get their flu shots at the Campus Health Fair. Cost to students is $14 for the injectable vaccine and $23 for the nasal spray. Cost to faculty, staff and eligible family members is $19 for the injectable vaccine and $28 for the nasal spray.
