K-STATE'S BEACH MUSEUM TO STAGE FAMILY CRAFTS WORKSHOP DEC. 2

MANHATTAN -- The Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art at Kansas State University is inviting merrymakers young and old to its annual Holiday Family Art workshop from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2.

Sponsored by the Student Friends of the Beach Museum of Art, the workshop welcomes families and interested community members to create holiday cards and small gifts. Participants may bring personal items such as photographs to make their creations unique.

"This is definitely my favorite workshop of the year," said Jake Perkinson, junior in fine arts, Salina, and president of the Student Friends group. "It's a great excuse to let your inner child play. Everyone involved leaves beaming with holiday cheer."

Admission is $3 per person, but Beach Buddies get in for half-price. Reservations are not required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

For more information, call 785-532-7718 or drop by the museum on the southeast corner of the K-State campus at 14th Street and Anderson Avenue. Admission is free, and free visitor parking is available next to the building. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursdays; and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. The museum is closed Mondays.
