REFERENDUM STUDENT VOTE FOR REC EXPANSION IS TODAY
MANHATTAN -- Today the students of Kansas State University are voting on the proposed Chester E. Peters Recreation Expansion.
The proposal, if approved, will add 88,400 square feet to the current recreation complex.
Features of the expansion will include: a 10,000 square foot addition to the cardio/weight room, a MAC (multi-activity court) gymnasium for activities such as indoor soccer, in-line skating, hockey and dances, as well as traditional gym activities.
Also, there will be a 45-foot rock climbing wall and bouldering rocks; a new southern entrance to the Rec Complex; additional spaces for mind/body classes, personal training, specialized exercise sessions; an extended running track from 1/8 of a mile to 1/5 of a mile; and an additional multi-purpose room which can divide into 4 sub areas to be used for exercise sessions, meetings, rentals, and sport club practices.
