MANHATTAN -- The craftsmanship of students in Kansas State University's interior architecture and product design department has been recognized by a Kansas City furnishings trade group.
In its annual regional student competition for K-Staters, the Kansas City Architects, Designers, Dealers and Representatives awarded prizes for large and small furniture made during the 2006-2007 academic year.
The students designed and built their pieces in studio classes taught by David Brown, associate professor of interior architecture and product design; Steve Davidson, assistant professor of interior architecture and product design; and Rod Troyer, associate professor of interior architecture and product design.
All the small furniture was made by students in their third year; the large furniture entries were made by students who earned bachelor's degrees in May 2007.
