K-STATE AWARDS SEMESTER, GRADUATION HONORS

MANHATTAN -- More than 1,700 students earned semester honors from Kansas State University for their academic performance during the 2007 fall semester.

K-State also is awarding 129 students December 2007 graduation honors in recognition of their outstanding academic performance as undergraduates.

Students earning semester or graduation honors receive commendations from their deans, with the honors recorded on their permanent academic records. Students receiving semester honors rank in the top 10 percent of their class within their respective colleges and were enrolled in at least 12 semester hours of graded course work.

K-State awards summa cum laude to students with an academic average of 3.95 or higher; magna cum laude to students with an academic average of 3.85 to 3.949; and cum laude to students with a 3.750-3.849 academic average.

Graduating summa cum laude in December 2007 were 29 students, while 38 students graduated magna cum laude and 62 graduated cum laude. Three students who received multiple degrees also earned graduation honors for each degree earned.
