K-STATE THEATER TO PRESENT FIRST PRODUCTION OF 2008
MANHATTAN -- The theater program at Kansas State University will present "The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds" at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 7-9 and Feb. 13-16 in Nichols Theater.
"The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds," the winner of the 1971 Pulitzer Prize, portrays the struggles of young adults. The play follows the bitter and acid-tongued widow Beatrice Hunsdorfer as she wreaks vengeance on those around her, including her two daughters: pretty but highly strung Ruth, and plain and shy Tillie.
Charlotte MacFarland, associate professor of theater, will direct the production, with set design by Kathy Voecks, assistant professor of theater.
Tickets are $8 for students and children; $11 for military; and $13 for the public. Tickets are available weekdays at the McCain Auditorium box office from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at the K-State Student Union Little Theater box office from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tickets also can be ordered by phone at 785-532-6428 during box office hours, and online at http://www.k-state.edu/theatre
