K-STATE'S CAREER AND EMPLOYMENT SERVICES SPONSORING CONTEST FOR STUDENTS; PRIZE IS TICKETS TO BIG 12 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University students are getting the chance to win tickets to the upcoming Big 12 Basketball Tournament while learning more about the services provided by the university's on-campus career and employment resource.

K-State career and employment services is sponsoring the first "Hunt for Hoops" scavenger hunt. The winner will receive two tickets to the Men's Big 12 Basketball Tournament, March 13-16, at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo. The winner also will receive gift certificates for meals at Kansas City area restaurants and room accommodations for two nights for two people at the Marriott Hotel in Overland Park.

The contest consists of answering clues that career and employment services will give every week in February. Entry forms will be made available at career and employment services, in Holtz Hall, beginning Friday, Feb. 1. The contest is open to current K-State students who are enrolled for the spring 2008 semester. Entry forms must be turned in to career and employment services by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 29.

"As they play to win, students will learn more about how our office can support their career, from establishing a 'My CES Account' to on-campus interviews with employers seeking interns and full-time employees," said Dottie Evans, assistant director of career and employment services. "Freshman, sophomore, junior or senior, there is something for everyone at career and employment services."

The winner will be drawn randomly from all correct entries received by Feb. 29.
