LIBRARY CAMP KANSAS MARCH 19 AT K-STATE'S HALE LIBRARY
MANHATTAN -- Providing a special opportunity for library users and librarians from libraries of all types to share ideas, K-State Libraries at Kansas State University will be the host to Library Camp Kansas from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, in the Hemisphere Room at K-State's Hale Library.
Topics at the event include customer-friend libraries, library 2.0 and how libraries can improve services to meet community needs.
Along with K-State Libraries, Library Camp Kansas is co-sponsored by the Northeast Kansas Library System and the Kansas Library Association's Library Instruction Roundtable.
Although the camp is free and open to anyone, participation is limited to 100 individuals and registration is required.
Library Camp Kansas is the first library "unconference" to take place in Kansas, according to event organizers. Unlike traditional conferences, which feature formal schedules, expert speakers and lots of one-way communication, an "unconference" features day-of-scheduling, collegial dialogue, no registration fees and the sharing of solutions and ideas.
Registration, a camp agenda, list of potential discussion topics and more information about the camp can be found at: http://librarycampks.wetpaint.com/page/Invitation+to+participate
