K-STATE TO OFFER NEW ONLINE INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS COURSE
MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University will offer the online course Intercollegiate Athletics and the Student Athlete, EDCEP 761, for the fall 2008 semester.
The course examines policies and procedures of the NCAA, as well as roles and responsibilities within a department of intercollegiate athletics. The course will especially be of interest to college and university advisers and others in student personnel; high school coaches and athletic directors; and others interested in NCAA athletics.
A graduate-level course, it is being offered for three credit hours and will help students understand the inner workings of an athletic department, ethical and professional issues as they relate to sports and current problems, and issues within intercollegiate athletics.
Enrollment continues through Aug. 25 and can be done online at http://www.dce.k-state.edu/courses and typing "EDCEP 761" into the class search.
