'K-STATE CELEBRATES' COMING TO WICHITA SEPT. 25

MANHATTAN -- Kansas State University is offering a special evening of fun for high school students from the Wichita area.

"K-State Celebrates" will start at 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the Hyatt Regency, 400 W. Waterman, in downtown Wichita. Registration starts at 6:45 p.m. The event is free and students are welcome to bring their parents and friends along.

"'K-State Celebrates'" is an opportunity for students to learn how to be smart shoppers when it comes to choosing a college," said Mako Shores, K-State admissions representative. "We'll be providing more information than ever about K-State, and we also can help students see what K-State has to offer them."

Pat Bosco, dean of student life at K-State, will be on hand to discuss what's going on at the university. Students also will be able to meet with representatives from K-State's colleges and find out about housing, Greek life, student financial assistance and campus organizations. K-State admissions representatives and student ambassadors also will be available to answer questions.

In addition, one high school senior will receive up to $500 worth of textbooks for his or her first semester at K-State.

The registration deadline for "K-State Celebrates" is Wednesday, Sept. 19. To make a reservation or for more information, call Shores toll free at 1-800-432-8270. More information also is available at:
