LYNN CARLIN
Interim vice provost for information technology

Lynn CarlinCarlin, who joined K-State in 2005 as director of data and information administration, was appointed interim vice provost for information technology services in July 2007. She previously served as special projects assistant to the provost and to the dean of K-State Libraries.

Carlin has been involved in planning for the management of the university’s digital information resources. In that role, she has advised the provost on information technology related initiatives.

Most of Carlin’s career has been as an archivist and administrator working in various leadership positions at the Library of Congress and the National Archives in Washington, D.C.

Much of her work has involved planning, directing or coordinating organizational change efforts in response to the evolving digital information and technical environment. At the National Archives, she coordinated an agency-wide planning effort that resulted in a 10-year strategic plan, laying a foundation for finding new ways to address the federal government’s electronic records and digital information issues.

She has a master’s degree in history from Marshall University and a bachelor’s in social work from Ohio State University.

Carlin can be contacted at 785-532-6520 or lcarlin@k-state.edu.
