Michael North presented "Relational Oracle Database Principles and Voyager Reporting" and "Advanced Problems with Voyager Reporting" at the regional South Central Voyager Users Group meeting held at Oklahoma State University in October.

Danielle Theiss-White was chosen as one of two Kansas librarians to attend The Leadership Institute Oct. 28 to Nov. 2 at Ghost Ranch, New Mexico.

Roger McHaney presented the keynote address at Axio Learning Community conference, Sept. 27-28, Manhattan.

Sociology, anthropology and social work

Harald Prins and Bunny McBride co-authored a two-volume study, "Asticou's Island Domain: Wabanaki Peoples at Mount Desert Island: 1500-2000," published by the National Park Service, 2007.

Prins and McBride were also instrumental in the official induction by the president of France of a decorated Penobscot veteran of Omaha Beach and the Battle of the Bulge as Chevalier of the Legion d'Honneur. Their project has resulted in the Maine governor's proclamation of June 6 as Native American Veterans History Day.

Prins co-authored "Vers un Monde sans Mal: Alfred Métraux, un anthropologue à l'Unesco (1948-1962)," in "60 Ans d'Histoire de l'Unesco; Actes de Conference International," Paris, 2007.

Veterinary medicine

"K-State Expands Faculty in Clinical Specialties" appeared in the November issue of Veterinary Practice News.
