STUDENT AWARDED NATIONAL INTERNSHIP
MANHATTAN
-- A recent Kansas State University graduate has been chosen for a 2003
National Geographic Society internship. Tiffany Dean, Manhattan,
was awarded one of only 10 internships the society offered this year.
"Dean
is the eighth K-State geography student chosen for this prestigious
internship," said Lisa M. Butler Harrington, associate professor
of geography. The society selects only the strongest students in geography
and cartography each year.
Dean
will work in the research division of the National Geographic Society
under the guidance of an experienced researcher. Her work will focus
on ensuring the accuracy of the society's information. Her internship
runs from May 19 to Aug. 22.
Dean
is a 1998 graduate of Manhattan High School and a 2002 graduate of Kansas
State University.
