SPENCER
RECOGNIZED WITH RESEARCH AWARD FROM NATIONAL ASSOCIATION
MANHATTAN
-- Gayle Spencer, coordinator of student activities and services at
Kansas State University, will receive the research award from the Commission
for Student Involvement of the American College Personnel Association.
"Gayle
is a deserving recipient of this award," said Pat Bosco, associate
vice president for institutional advancement and dean of student life.
"The award includes a $500 stipend for research in the area of
student leadership and involvement, which is related to her doctoral
research."
Spencer
will accept the award at the American College Personnel Association
national convention in April 2004.
"Gayle
has been an invaluable member of our staff and has advised, taught and
trained student leaders for many years," said Carla Jones, senior
associate dean of student life. She is a role model for students as
well as colleagues across the nation, and we are very pleased she has
received this honor."
A
native of Nebraska, Spencer has been at K-State since 1997. She has
degrees from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Western Illinois
University, and worked at the University of Houston and Notre Dame University
prior to coming to K-State.
